Guard Rail

Safety barriers across South West Sydney.

For builders, developers and facilities managers. Written quotes with the scope stated, priced against your drawings.

Short answer

Homestead Group installs safety barriers, bollards, wheel stops and guard rail across South West Sydney: the Moorebank logistics precinct, the Prestons and Ingleburn estates, and the industrial pockets through Minto and Smeaton Grange. Based in the district, installed to the engineer's detail.

The south-west's barrier work clusters around freight. Moorebank's intermodal precinct and the estates feeding it at Prestons and Chipping Norton run heavy vehicle movements at most hours, which makes their barrier lines both more worked and more critical than a quiet suburban car park. When protection out here fails, the thing it was protecting is usually a person on foot between two vehicle routes.

Being based in the district changes the shape of small jobs. A clipped bollard at Ingleburn or a flattened wheel stop row at Minto is a short run from the yard rather than a mobilisation someone has to justify, so the small remedial work that other installers quietly deprioritise actually gets done. Facilities managers notice which contractor answers for the follow-up, not just the install.

Newer estates through Smeaton Grange and Gregory Hills bring the opposite problem: brand-new slabs where the barrier layout exists only on a drawing. Set-out is the skill there, because a bollard line 100mm out of position protects the wrong thing for the next thirty years. We set out from the documentation, query it where it conflicts with the slab joints, and fix into concrete we can stand behind.

The full service is described at Safety Barriers, and the residential side of where we work is at service areas.

FAQ

Asked by builders out this way

Both, and the small ones are a deliberate part of the book. Being based in the district makes a single bollard replacement viable for us where it is a reluctant mobilisation for an installer coming across the city.
Usually yes. Most proprietary systems can be matched or neatly transitioned, and where a system is obsolete we will say so and propose the closest current equivalent rather than improvising a lookalike.
The barrier manufacturer's manual and the project engineer. We install to that documentation and raise it with the engineer when the slab condition will not take the specified anchor, rather than substituting on the spot.
